Beryllium
History
Does this look like it's finished? As the Mod is still under development, this site is also very beta.
You might have noticed that I like the game World of Padman a lot, therefore I explored modding it. At first I did the usual steps of creating faster flying rockets and the like. But soon I thought that there must be more to modding. As a Co-Admin on one server I realized that WoP needed way more options of administration and settings for the gameplay itself. So I added the possibility to edit the weapons' ammo, firerate, damage and more. From that the mod grew somewhat uncontrolled into all directions.
Features
So far it features a lot of settings for the weapons, admins levels and bans, adding new objects into the map while loading and there is of course an everlasting Todo-list with a whole bunch of new features.
Download
Since I am the only "developer" working infrequently on it, I don't plan any official release yet. As soon as there is a somewhat stable and overall usable version of it, I will put a download of it here. But do not expect me to release its code or even a readme.
As it is a serverside-only mod, you might aswell find a server running beryllium.
Credits
One more thing to note is that it heavily bases on a lot of other mods for the ioQuake3-Engine. First of all, it was the Beryllium-Mod itself that gave me the inspiration, then there is paulR's Instagib-Mod, cyrri's Competition-Mod and way more. If I forgot to mention someone here, tell me. In all cases, the code I adapted to my mod was free for use since licensed under the GPL.
Greets fly to cyrri, @spi, #@, #!/bin/sh, IG and all other helpers and testers.
Update
Please note that most of the previous text does currently not apply, as beryllium has been rewritten and is now more biased towards server administration and fixing bugs in gamecode.
For your pleasure (and to get some testers) there now is a semi-release. README and qagame.qvm.
